About Blue Mesa Resevoir:

Blue Mesa is Colorado’s largest lake, when full it is about 19 miles long with four arms ranging from one to three miles and has 96 miles of shoreline. The deepest point in Blue Mesa when it is full at 320ft.

You can swim in the Blue Mesa between June and September. Jet Skis allowed on the lake.

3 reservoirs, named for corresponding dams on the Gunnison River, form the heart of Curecanti. Blue Mesa Reservoir, Morrow Point Reservoir is the beginning of the Black Canyon, and below, East Portal is the site of the Gunnison Diversion Tunnel, a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.
